Happy Valentine's Day!

(Don't worry, it's just a model).

Also, Happy Sorta-Frederick Douglass's Birthday! He was born in February 1818, although he never knew which day, and actually thought he had been born in 1817 until he was an adult. He took Valentine's Day as his birthday, and this was part of the reason that this week became Negro History Week, the precursor to Black History Month.

I actually celebrate today as the penultimate holiday of the Candy Season, which opens with Halloween and closes with Easter. I can always celebrate candy!

Candy Season! How profound. I like it. I want it. I shall mark it on my calendar.
