Dear Students (and other amateur historians),
If your hypothesis about an asassination conspiracy rests on a plot point in the X-Files or supernatural "evidence" provided by a spiritual medium, then you may want to rethink your research strategy.
Thank you,
Prof. Bluestocking.

Oh good - you have this problem in history, too.
In literature they are always trying to explain tricky narrative devices by suggesting that the story may really be about aliens getting into the character's brain.
I was almost sick laughing- I think it was aliens that done it.
Wow...that's a new one. Can't say as I've ever seen that before. Now for the interpretive dance portion of the essay.
Ah yes. Oh, and dear student, if your only connection to this bit is a bad movie? Don't mention it, K?
Wait -- You want more evidence than a raised eyebrow and a closed door?
Oh yes -- the "Hannibal Lecter did it" fallacy!
