The MOST Important Thing That I Saw at the Smithsonian Museum of American History, EVAH!

Even more importantly, it was across from the bathrooms.

Whoops! Sorry to leave out an explanation, Dykewife. It's Stephen Colbert, of Comedy Central's "Colbert Report." About a year ago, maybe less, he visited one of the Smithsonian museums and harassed them into hanging this portrait from his studio in the National Portrait Gallery. They hung it between the bathrooms there for a few months. When they took it down, they sent it over to the American History Museum, where they have such artifacts as Kermit the Frog, Seinfeld's puffy shirt, Dorothy's ruby slippers from "The Wizard of Oz," and so forth. So, there it is, in all of its glory, across from the bathrooms.

Lori, it WAS important! It had almost as many visitors as the ever popular First Ladies' exhibit, and more than the Gettysburg Address (which wasn't the original first draft, anyway).

What, so that guy that sold me the original first draft of the Gettysburg Address was maybe not lying? ; )
