Don't Eat the Yellow Snow

Dog tracks in the snow: Most of the pooches in this complex stand lower than your knee. Given that the drifts came up to about my knee, that left the hounds in quite a dilemma. I'm sure you can guess what dilemma that might be.:
Yellow snow. In fact, all of the snow along the path in this picture is yellow.:

As you can see, that is the back door to the building. The snow there was partially shovelled and stamped down. This was the best place for the doggies to go when their usual place looked like this:
I saw people walking the dogs, even in the storm, and felt sorry for the pooches, being dragged through snow higher than their heads and having to leap from place to place. Then, I noticed that all of their tails were wagging. They were expressing their inner Husky!

Just watch out where the Huskies go.

Tee hee! My dog goes beserk in snow...she tries to jump up OVER the snow for every step (picture someone jumping waves in the ocean). And it makes her SO happy.

That's exactly what the dogs here were doing -- or the ones that could! This one little doxie refused to go into the snow at all because it was twice his height. He had a party sniffing around the edges, however. They are all usually pretty happy to go outdoors, but the snow made bathroom time sooo much more fun for them.

The friend's dog I'm taking care of is fairly small - his chest & stomach are maybe 8-10 inches off the ground, not counting the long hair. He avoided the 8-10 inches of snow the first few times I took him out, and stayed in the cleared area. Yesterday, though, he suddenly ran into the snow - but only for a quick romp!

How cute! Also cute that you all cleared off an area for him. The doxie, whom I mentioned in the post, has a sister who took one look outside and refused to cross the threshhold.

Zappa!

Hey, do you have any details on Baltimore's final decision about where to put the bust of Zappa some Lithuanians graced the city with?
