In the defense of Savannah tchotchke shop owners, there were no jet black mammy soap dispensers or pickaninnies eating watermelon, nor were there t-shirts proclaiming that Georgia stood alone against northern aggression. Still, this was in a bookstore:
Along side these representations of black folks, there are many silences. That is the southern way.

Those "Magic Pals" just look like someone thought gingerbread people should be made of a chocolate dough...but they do look very very disturbing.
